  • Language profile – target language, native language, learning goals, mastery scores
  • Session data – chat messages, pronunciation recordings, translation exercises, and learning journal entries
  • Usage data – page views, session duration, feature interactions
  • Payment data – billing handled by Stripe; we do not store card numbers
  • Cookies – a session cookie (session_id) required for authentication

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide personalised language learning sessions and track your progress
  • To grade your exercises and generate tailored feedback via AI language models
  • To process payments and manage your subscription
  • To communicate service updates, security notices, and support responses
  • To improve the platform based on aggregate, anonymised usage patterns

4. Third-Party Services

To deliver the service, we use trusted third-party providers in the following categories:

  • Payment processing – a PCI-compliant payment provider handles billing securely; we never store card numbers
  • AI language models – we use industry-leading AI services to power chat, grading, and feedback
  • Speech & audio services – pronunciation assessment, text-to-speech, and speech-to-text are handled by specialised cloud providers
  • Cloud infrastructure – the platform is hosted on secure, managed cloud infrastructure

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. Anonymised aggregate analytics may be retained indefinitely.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Export your learning data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time

7. Cookies

We use one essential cookie (session_id) required for authentication. If you choose "Essential only" in the cookie banner, only this cookie is set. If you choose "Accept all", we may additionally use analytics cookies to improve the product.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of neuralingo after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
